While traveling across country solo with my dog, Keats, in September 2024, I experienced some of the most transcendent sights that the country has to offer, as well as some of the most harrowing traffic, and goofy highway systems. This born-and-raised Californian is still incensed about the concept of highway tolls and toll pikes! But there were some gorgeous sights, sounds, and chance encounters along the way.
